「한·아세안 수중문화유산 보존처리 사례와 현황」 학술 토론회 개최(11.20./국립해양문화재연구소)

  문화재청 국립해양문화재연구소(소장 김성배)는 11월 20일(월) 오후 1시에 국립해양문화재연구소(전남 목포시)에서 「한·아세안 수중문화유산 보존처리 사례와 현황」이라는 주제로 학술 토론회(콜로키움)를 개최한다.
* 콜로키움(Colloquium) : 발표자가 발표를 한 후 참여자와 자유롭게 의견을 조율해 나가는 토론방식

이번 「한·아세안 수중문화유산 보존 콜로키움」은 우리나라와 아세안 국가의 수중문화유산 보존 전문가들을 초청하여 각 국가의 보존처리 사례와 현황, 향후 방향 등 연구 성과를 논의하고, 자유롭게 토론하기 위해 마련된 자리이다.

행사는 총 6개의 주제발표로 구성되며, 태국, 필리핀, 인도네시아의 수중문화유산 보존처리 현황과 앞으로의 방향성을 알아보는 ▲ 과거의 보존: 필리핀 수중문화유산 보존 현황(Rachelle A. Geline, 필리핀 국립박물관), ▲ 태국의 수중문화유산 보존과 노력(Wongsakorn Rahothan, 태국 미술문화부), ▲ 태국 고선박 파놈 수린(Phanom-Surin)선의 보존처리 및 과학적 분석연구(Natchaya Pattanasuttir at, 태국 미술문화부), ▲ 인도네시아 수중문화유산의 현재, 도전과 기회(Nia Naelul H. Ridwan, 인도네시아 해양수산부) 순으로 발표가 진행된다.
이후, 에너지절감 등 친환경적인 수중문화유산 보존관리 환경조성을 위한 ▲ 지속가능한 수중문화유산 보존·관리를 위한 노력(김서진, 국립해양문화재연구소), 현재 목포해양유물전시관에 전시 중인 신안선의 보존상태를 분석한 ▲ 전시 중 고선박의 보존관리(서수진, 국립해양문화재연구소) 발표를 통해 국내의 사례도 함께 살펴볼 예정이다.
* 신안선: 1975년 어부에 의해 발견된 중국 원나라 선박으로, 도자기와 각종 공예품 등이 함께 인양됨. 보존처리 후 실물 복원된 신안선 선체는 국립해양문화재연구소 내 목포해양유물전시관에 유물과 함께 전시되고 있음

주제발표 이후에는 발표자들과 각 국가의 연구자들이 자유롭고 다양한 의견을 주고받는 ‘콜로키움’ 토론이 이어진다.

문화재청은 이번 행사를 통해 수중문화유산 보존과학 분야에서 한·아세안 국가 간 협력을 촉진하고 공동연구를 위한 발판을 마련하고자 하며, 이를 통해 우리나라가 수중문화유산 보존분야를 선도할 수 있는 계기가 될 것으로 기대한다.

National Research Institute of Maritime Cultural Heritage (Director: Seong Bae Kim) under the Cultural Heritage Administration will hold an academic discussion (colloquium*) on Monday, Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. under the topic of 「Case Study and Current Status of Underwater Cultural Heritage Conservation in KoreaㆍASEAN」.
* Colloquium : An academic discussion session at which presenters freely coordinate opinions with participants after making a presentation.

This ‘KoreaㆍASEAN Underwater Cultural Heritage Conservation Colloquium’ is designed to invite underwater cultural heritage conservation experts in Korea and ASEAN countries to freely discuss research results including the cases, current status and future directions of conservation in each country.

This Colloquium will feature a total of 6 presentations on underwater cultural heritage conservation in Korea, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia in the order of ▲ Preserving the Past Navigating the Current State of Underwater Cultural Heritage Conservation in the Philippines (Rachelle A. Geline, National Museum of the Philippines) ▲ Preserving Thailand's Underwater Cultural Heritage A Dive into Conservation Efforts (Wongsakorn Rahothan, Ministry of Arts and Culture, Thailand) ▲P3. Conservation of Artifacts and the Case Study Using Scientific Methods from the Phanom Surin (Natchaya Pattanasuttirat, Ministry of Arts and Culture, Thailand) ▲ Current status, challenges, and opportunities on underwater cultural heritage conservation in Indonesia (Nia Naelul H. Ridwan, Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Indonesia) ▲ Efforts for Sustainable Conservation and Management of Underwater Cultural Heritage (Seojin, Kim, National Research Institute of Maritime Cultural Heritage) ▲Conservation Management of Ancient Ships during Exhibition(Sujin, Seo, National Research Institute of Maritime Cultural Heritage)

After the presentation of topics, a ‘colloquium’ will continue as the presenters freely discuss and share various opinions with researchers from each country.

The Cultural Heritage Administration intends to promote cooperation between Korea and ASEAN countries in the area of underwater cultural heritage conservation science and to prepare foundations for experts of the institute to conduct joint research. It is expected to serve as an opportunity for Korea to play a critical role in research leading the area of underwater cultural heritage conservation.
